Sindhi Migrations

Sindhi Migrations are known as one of the greatest in history, as they were being forced out of their own homeland to neighboring country India. They went through much tragedy along the way, ans this was no simple move for families. Families had to leave behind everything they know and go to a new country and begin again.

The migration was brutal and riots would rise as this wasn't a choice but a must that the Sindhi people did not agree too. Due to change in government in Pakistan Sindhi had to be moved to India. There were some bloodshed as some did not want to leave because this was all they knew. Sindh was their home and sanctuary for there they were all one and now they would have to become Indians.

Migrating to India, they would slowly lose their heritage which was the worst outcome of the migration. Due to the fact they were no longer in Sindh, there were no schools to teach the Sindh language or educate children on the cultures they believed in. Slowly the culture would be forgotten and books were no longer being written as more and more Sindh became Indians. Many still had small groups that would stick together and talk about Sindh culture but due to the migration many were not close to eachother but rather scattered apart.

Being in India they adapted to living as well as they could and most were farmers. The migration of the Sindhi people is such a historical event because not only were they forced to move out of their homeland but their culture died as well and only a few still now consider themselves Sindhi as well as keeping the culture and traditions alive.
